Final rendered videos: - Available for download - Consider downloading and deleting - Largest storage consumers

Temporary Files

Processing artifacts: - Usually auto-deleted - Manual cleanup available - Don't require preservation

Storage Best Practices

Before Starting Projects

  • ✅ Check available storage
  • ✅ Delete old projects first
  • ✅ Estimate upload sizes
  • ✅ Plan for rendered output

During Projects

  • Download renders promptly
  • Delete failed renders
  • Remove unused clips
  • Don't keep multiple versions

After Completion

  • Download final video
  • Archive locally if needed
  • Delete project from VidStitch
  • Free space for new projects

File Size Optimization

Video Uploads

Reduce file size before uploading:

Original Recommended Reduction
4K ProRes 4K H.264 80-90%
Uncompressed H.264 90-95%
60fps 30fps 40-50%

Transcoding Tips

Before uploading, convert videos: - Codec: H.264 - Container: MP4 - Bitrate: 10-20 Mbps for 1080p - Frame rate: 30fps (unless 60fps needed)

Tool Recommendations

  • HandBrake (free, cross-platform)
  • FFmpeg (command line)
  • Adobe Media Encoder (paid)

Storage Quota Exceeded

What Happens

When quota is exceeded: - New uploads blocked - Renders may fail - Projects remain accessible - Downloads still work

Resolution Steps

  1. Download important files
  2. Delete old projects
  3. Remove unused clips
  4. Delete rendered outputs
  5. Empty temporary files
